Goals of the workshop
1) to discuss the scientific motivations which will be addressed by the future ground-based gamma-ray observatories after the completion of the HESS, VERITAS, MAGIC, CANGAROO, and GLAST projects;
2) to determine the technical parameters required to pursue these scientific motivations and identify possible implementations of future instruments;
3) to form the US core of a potential international collaboration to further research and development of the next ground based gamma-ray project.
